Caviar signs writer-director Sasha Nathwani

Sasha Nathwani

Academy Award–winning production company Caviar has signed writer and director Sasha Nathwani for U.S. commercial and music video representation. Recognized for marrying intimate, character-led storytelling with lush, emotionally resonant visuals, Nathwani moves fluidly between narrative film, branded content, and music videos with a unified, distinctive voice.

His debut feature, Last Swim, produced by Caviar, premiered at the 2024 Berlin International Film Festival, where it won the Crystal Bear. The film went on to screen at the BFI London Film Festival and is currently in theaters across the U.K. and Ireland, with a global streaming release to follow.

In advertising, Nathwani has helmed campaigns for New Balance, the Royal Navy, and On Running. His recent short, It’s How You Show Up—created for the National Autistic Society and released on World Autism Awareness Day—underscores his commitment to emotionally grounded stories from underrepresented perspectives, a hallmark of both his commercial and narrative work.

“Sasha’s work is as grounded as it is cinematic. He has a rare ability to capture interior emotional worlds while building vivid visual ones. We’re proud to have produced Last Swim and even prouder to bring him into the Caviar family in a bigger way,” said Salim El Arja, Caviar U.S. Executive Producer.

“Caviar has long championed bold, distinctive voices, so joining their U.S. roster is an exciting and meaningful step,” added Nathwani. “After collaborating with their U.K. team on my debut feature, Last Swim, I experienced firsthand their passion for craft and their unwavering support for authentic expression. I’m looking forward to continuing that relationship and building a body of work in the U.S. that reflects my brand of nuanced emotional narratives, particularly those centered on underrepresented perspectives.”

Born and raised in London, Nathwani studied at NYU’s Tisch School of the Arts. He began his career across fashion and music before moving into film, where his focus on narrative authenticity has positioned him as one of the most compelling new voices in global storytelling.
