Walmart brings holiday magic home

Walmart

Walmart sets
the tone for a
truly magical
holiday season
as a lone teddy bear
finds its forever home

This one is for my beautiful, precocious, and strong-willed little niece Joni Marie who turns 1 today! This Cossette Agency first project for Walmart has managed to clear the shelves of this mischievous little Gund Brown Bear, but I managed to snag one just for you.

The spot taps into customers’ desire to create holiday magic for their families – and the knowledge that it can require a lot of work. Walmart’s intention is that parents and family members can bring their hope for holiday magic to life without having to compromise to stay on a budget.

With Teddy, the program’s 60-second hero video, Walmart sets the tone for a truly magical holiday season as we follow the adventures of a lone teddy bear in a Walmart store, as it waits for its new forever home. The video is now available online and will be broadcasted on TV in the coming weeks.

Not a word is spoken but the message is clear, and rather than a familiar Christmas chorus, Sam Cooke’s “Bring it on Home to Me” manages to carry the perfect tone of seasonal sentiment.

Walmart’s holiday program also includes the return of its Toy Academy and beloved toy expert Olivia. For parents and family members, using this online content hub takes the guesswork and stress out of finding the “it” toys of the season.

Nice job Cossette! This spot made me want to give the gift of a little brown bear to all my loved ones. Happy Birthday Joni Marie!
