Can’t share passwords? Red Baron says share pizza

In response to Netflix’s recent crackdown on sharing passwords, Red Baron is giving fans the opportunity to share something instead of passwords.

Red Baron lives by the motto and brand platform, “SHARE SOMETHING AWESOME.” So, when America could no longer share passwords, Red Baron decided to step in with something even more awesome (and delicious) to share.

Pizza.

The new campaign, “Red Baron Pizza Sharing,” created by TBWA\Chiat\Day encourages users to share a frozen pizza with friends, family and loved ones because, although users may not be able to share passwords, they can still share something delicious: pizza. And with Red Baron, sharing isn’t just allowed—it’s highly encouraged.

Kirsten Rutherford, Executive Creative Director, TBWA\Chiat\Day LA shared, “As a creative team working for the brand, we’re always looking for cultural moments that allow us to tap into sharing. When a certain streaming service announced the updated password-sharing policy, we had to get in on the conversation that would inevitably blow up online. As fellow password sharers, there’s no better way to alleviate some of the frustration than by sharing something as awesome as pizza.”

How it Works

  • Visit www.redbaronpizzasharing.com
  • Enter your name and mailing address
  • Click “Get Pizza”
  • Choose your pizza profile of choice
  • Wait to receive your coupon in the mail

The campaign elements include a digital launch film, microsite (redbaronpizzasharing.com), custom pizza-themed movie posters and an OOH mobile billboard.  Look below:

REELated:

“It just made sense for us to say something because, honestly, everyone loves TV and everyone loves pizza — it’s a mainstay of movie night. So, we wanted to give streaming fans something to smile about. And we wanted to do it in the funniest, easiest way possible,” Rutherford added.

The campaign will run exclusively on Red Baron’s social media platforms (Instagram, TikTok, and Twitter) and will direct users to the Red Baron Pizza Sharing microsite, where they can request a coupon for a free Red Baron frozen pizza. The campaign will run as long as supplies last.
