Mickey C. Lee, a contestant on Big Brother Season 27, has died. She was 35. Lee’s family confirmed her death in a statement shared on Instagram, announcing that she passed away on Christmas evening, Dec. 25. The news came just days after the family revealed that Lee had suffered multiple cardiac arrests and was hospitalized in critical condition.
On Dec. 23, Lee’s family launched a GoFundMe campaign and shared it on her Instagram account. At the time, the page stated that following several cardiac arrests, Lee was “in the ICU in critical but stable condition.” The message described the situation as a sudden health crisis that placed significant emotional and financial strain on her family, citing mounting hospital bills and ongoing care and recovery costs. As of publication, the fundraiser had reached roughly 80 percent of its goal, raising more than $31,000.
On Christmas Day, the family posted an update confirming Lee’s passing. “With profound sadness, the family of Mickey Lee announces her transition on Christmas in the early evening,” the statement read. “Mickey captured the hearts of audiences nationwide through her appearance on Big Brother, where her authenticity, strength, and spirit left a lasting impression on fans and fellow cast members alike.” The family added that she would be remembered for the joy she brought into the lives of many and for the genuine connections she formed both on and off screen, while also expressing gratitude for the outpouring of love and support. The statement concluded with a request for privacy and the message, “Mickey’s light, legacy, and impact will never be forgotten.”
Lee, who was originally from Jacksonville, Florida, and based in Atlanta, was known outside of television as an event curator and creative professional. On Big Brother, she quickly became a standout presence, earning praise from viewers for her bold gameplay, warmth, and openness. She was evicted from the house three months ago after spending 59 days in the competition.
Dena the Explorer, who offers color commentary on Big Brother and other reality series, had this to say about Lee’s gameplay, “Mickey initially was one of the most influential players in the house. Her ability to persuade others to do what she wanted done, often soothing them with her elevated cooking and confident nature, set her apart from day one. She played the game with intention, grace, and spiritual faith. Mickey Lee leaves behind a legacy of strategy and that will forever be remembered in the Big Brother house and beyond.”

Tributes from across the Big Brother community followed the announcement. Former houseguest Elena Davies wrote, “What an incredible loss. Mickey will never be forgotten — prayers for her family and loved ones.” Fellow Season 27 contestant Rachel Reilly added that Lee “shared so much light with us and was such an amazing soul.” Tiffany Mitchell also paid tribute, writing, “Rest, babygirl, peacefully. Life is short, tomorrow is not promised, and every moment is a gift.”
No additional details about Lee’s death have been released. Her family and fellow cast members remembered her as a bright presence whose impact extended far beyond the Big Brother house.
Rest in Power, Mickey C. Lee.
