When it came to the Emmys, no one ever called Saul. Critically acclaimed Better Call Saul wrapped up its six-season run without securing a single Emmy win. Despite accumulating an impressive 53 Emmy nominations during its tenure, the Breaking Bad spinoff failed to take home any awards.
The final season of Better Call Saul, which aired in two parts, received seven nominations at the 2023 Emmys, including prestigious categories like Best Actor in a Drama Series and Best Drama Series. However, it faced tough competition and couldn’t replicate the Emmy success of its predecessor, Breaking Bad, which earned 16 Emmy wins during its run.
Actress Rhea Seehorn, nominated for supporting actress in a drama series, expressed contentment with the series even in the absence of an Emmy win. In an interview with The Hollywood Reporter before the Emmys, Seehorn mentioned that the cast felt proud of the work they created, especially given the challenging task of concluding the final season.
“I guess I’d be lying“I guess I’d be lying if I didn’t say, who doesn’t want to run up on stage and go, ‘Thanks for recognizing our last time out here,’” she said. “But I have a feeling we’ll feel that way about our show no matter what.”
Better Call Saul wasn’t the only multiple-nominated show that left the Emmys ceremony without a win. Other notable series like Ted Lasso, The Last of Us, The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel, Wednesday, Barry, and Only Murders in the Building also went home empty-handed.

Despite these surprising outcomes, The Bear, Succession, and Beef emerged as dominant forces in the comedy, drama, and limited series categories, respectively. The 75th Emmy telecast showcased both expected victories and unforeseen twists, reinforcing the unpredictable nature of awards ceremonies.
