Apache and Quinn Alvarez continue uplifting the Latinx community through color with three Spanish spots for State Farm, just in time to celebrate Hispanic Heritage Month.

A Los Angeles native with Chicano roots that inspired him to push the film industry to better reflect the city he loves, Alvarez began color grading several Super Bowl commercials and celebrated Cannes Lions wins with clients including Xfinity and Burger King.

The spots depict the various ways you can save money without sacrificing what you love, thanks to State Farm’s payment options. From the thought of canceling beloved dance classes and family cookouts to saying farewell to soccer television packages, State Farm’s representative shows up to remind its clients that their low prices can adjust to any budget, followed by their famous tagline, “Like a good neighbor, State Farm is there.” Watch below:

“Apache is definitely a unique place, and it definitely comes from the top,” says Alvarez. “I sought out a minority-owned company. Steve Rodriguez, our lead colorist, Co-owner, and partner, is Cuban-American from Los Angeles, and is definitely one of the big reasons why our office culture stands out across the industry. We all know where each of us is coming from. That level of understanding is extremely helpful in making this a great place to work.”

After working alongside directing heavyweights such as Paul Hunter, Melina Matsoukas, and Eric Wareheim at PrettyBird Pictures, coloring projects for the influential work of Pharrell Williams, Travis Scott, Major Lazer, Tierra Whack, and others, Alvarez found himself in search for a new home that embraced the works of people of color throughout the film industry. Ultimately leading him to minority-owned Apache Digital, he found his comfort in sharing similar walks of life with a team that offers relatable insight into what it takes to build the perfect work collaboration.

Alvarez’s more recent passion projects include the Four Seasons Total Documentary for MSNBC, Neymar: The Perfect Chaos for Netflix, executive produced by LeBron James. He also volunteers for the CDDP (Commercial Directors Diversity Program), having colored three spots for them this year.

Aside from their work with State Farm, Apache has also had their hands in various other projects supporting the Latinx commercial industry including work for Jennifer Lopez’s Coppel collection, Ad Agency Alma based out of Miami and spots for T-Mobile, amongst many others.

Co-Founded by EP LaRue Anderson and Cuban-American Lead Colorist, Steven Rodriguez, Apache operates with inclusivity at its forefront offering everlasting growth for its team of talented Latinx creatives.

As a reflection of their communities, the team has made a comfortable home for creatives of various backgrounds to better understand and guide each other in ways that makes their office culture stand out across the production industry. Color Assistant Angie Batz, Finishing Producer Luis Amaya, Head of Production Stefanie Schaldenbrand, and Online Artist Rigoberto Madrigal are only a portion of what makes Apache the home it is today.
