Anomaly elevates Chris Neff, taps Clara Mulligan

Anomaly

Anomaly is doubling down on design and emerging tech with two senior promotions: Chris Neff becomes Global Chief AI Officer and Clara Mulligan steps up to Chief Design Officer, Europe.

“Chris and Clara embody Anomaly’s spirit of curious, diverse thinkers who reject the status quo,” said Karina Wilsher, Partner and Global CEO. “Their leadership will continue to unlock transformative ideas across our network.”

Neff joined Anomaly three years ago as Global Head of Emerging Experience & Technology and was named to Adweek’s AI Trailblazers earlier this year. He’s helped stand up the agency’s global GenAI council and led programs that operationalize AI across teams and clients, including Ally, Diageo, Google, and AB InBev. His portfolio of initiatives spans Rewire (a bespoke AI education curriculum rolled out across offices), proprietary synthetic persona tools for research and testing, Social Portals using AI agents to pilot TikTok, and a suite of cultural intelligence workflows.

“AI isn’t the star of our work, it’s the amplifier,” Neff said. “Creativity is our currency and taste is our edge. We use AI as instruments to elevate craft, deepen cultural and strategic impact, and unlock new possibilities for our people and clients.”

On the design side, Mulligan has spent the past three years building a pan-European team across London and Berlin that treats design as a strategic growth lever. Her group’s recent remit includes elements of Starbucks’ “Back to Starbucks” transformation, rapid product innovation for Unilever, packaging for Tonies, and ushering in a new era for women’s professional football in the UK with the Women’s Super League rebrand and launch.

“Design at Anomaly is a mindset and a mechanism for transforming business,” said Mulligan. “We push design into new spaces and turn creativity into cultural and commercial impact.”

Both promotions are effective immediately. Reel 360 News wishes Chris and Clara all the best in their new roles.
