With her Golden Globe-nominated CBS TV series, Mom, it’s been a minute since we have seen Anna Faris in theaters.
That’s about to change as it was announced Faris (Scary Movie, House Bunny, Overboard, What’s Your Number?) will star in and produce the comedy feature, Summer Madness.
The comedy centers on flat-broke and foul-mouthed Georgie Cole (Faris) and her successful, elegant twin sister (also Faris). Disowned by her wealthy and conniving mother, Georgie must rally her dysfunctional family to appear picture perfect in order to win a large cash prize at her mother’s annual gala.
It will be produced by Anna Faris, Michael Barrett (cinematographer of Ted, Kiss Kiss, Bang Bang, You don’t Mess with The Zohan), Emilio Mauro and James Mottern.

The project is currently in pre-production and additional casting will be announced shortly.
Distributor The Exchange is handling Summer Madness worldwide sales rights and will introduce the project to domestic and international buyers at the AFM Film Market.
“Anna Faris is a comedy icon with global value. We are thrilled to bring a studio-level actress to an indie marketplace,” said O’Shea from The Exchange.
The Exchange’s line-up includes Zoe Saldana’s Keyhole Garden, Vanessa Redgrave and Tim Spall’s Mrs. Lowrey and Son, Drew Barrymore’s The Stand-In and critically acclaimed documentary The Biggest Little Farm.
The AFM will take place from November 6 (the day I met my wife) to November 13 at the Loews Hotel, Fairmount Hotel, Le Merigot, as well as other venues around Santa Monica. It’s still possible to pick up a badge here.
Summer Madness begins shooting in 2020.
