Sydney Sweeney is reportedly the newest star in Jeff Bezos’s orbit, and not just in Hollywood. The Euphoria actress has attracted the Amazon founder’s attention both on screen and in business, as Bezos and his wife Lauren Sánchez have reportedly invested in Sweeney’s upcoming lingerie line.
Insider chatter goes further, suggesting the billionaire may also be lobbying for the 28-year-old to become the next Bond girl in Amazon’s reboot of the storied spy franchise.
Bezos, whose company paid roughly $990 million for creative control of the franchise earlier this year, seems eager to shake and stir his image beyond tech and rockets. The new 007 film, helmed by Dune director Denis Villeneuve, marks Amazon’s first major creative venture with the franchise — and if Bezos has his way, it could also be Sweeney’s next starring role.
Sweeney, a breakout talent known for Euphoria and The White Lotus, addressed the speculation in a recent interview with Variety. She said: “I don’t know all the Bond rumors… I’ve always been a huge fan of the franchise … Depends on the script. I think I’d have more fun as James Bond.”
Another source told Hola! that director Villeneuve is already impressed with Sweeney’s “athleticism, charm and appeal to younger generations” — qualities he deems essential as the franchise modernizes. Below is a pic from a photo shoot Sweeney did for Frankie’s Bikinis.

As for the lingerie line, it’s backed by private equity interests, including Beth Schwerin’s Coatue (which recently received a billion-dollar investment from Bezos and Michael Dell). One insider told Us Weekly that the partnership is integral to Sweeney’s growth beyond acting.
With Bezos’s hand in both Bond and Sweeney’s business ventures, the question arises: is this simply a strategic investment, or the early stages of a cinematic pivot in which Sweeney becomes both brand and character, maybe even 007 herself?
