Tiffany & Co. is leaning into memory, motherhood and old New York for its 2026 holiday campaign. Created with American Haiku, “Love is a Gift” is centered on a two-minute film titled “You & Me,” starring Amanda Seyfried and directed by Academy Award nominee Derek Cianfrance.
The campaign is built around a simple idea: Tiffany doesn’t just sell gifts. It creates objects that become part of the memories people carry forward.
Moving between present-day and 1990s New York, the film follows a mother and daughter through a December day filled with ballet rehearsal, Tiffany holiday windows, and a gift that gradually takes on deeper meaning.
Seyfried plays a New York choreographer, allowing the story to show the mother not simply as the person creating holiday magic for her child, but as a creative woman with an identity and craft of her own. Watch below:

“Moving between past and present, the film reflects the enduring place Tiffany & Co. holds in life’s most meaningful moments and the stories we carry forward,” said Andrea Davey, chief marketing officer at Tiffany & Co.
For American Haiku, the emotional center is the moment when a child begins to see a parent as a person beyond that role. “As kids, there are these rare moments when we get to enter our parents’ world,” said Ben Muckensturm, creative director at American Haiku. “We wanted to capture that feeling from both sides: the excitement of discovering that world as a child, and the joy of sharing it as a parent.”
The creative deliberately moves away from the polished montage style common to luxury holiday advertising, instead emphasizing intimacy, natural behavior and restrained performances.
Bringing in Cianfrance, whose films include Blue Valentine, The Place Beyond the Pines and The Light Between Oceans, reinforces that more cinematic approach.
The 1990s setting also serves a larger purpose.
It evokes a pre-digital New York while speaking directly to parents who experienced that decade as children themselves, mirroring the campaign’s theme of one generation passing something meaningful to another.
That idea extends to the music. The film reimagines The Wannadies’ 1994 “You and Me Song,” shifting it from youthful romance into a story about the enduring connection between mother and daughter.
Production designer Karen Murphy built an Upper East Side home using genuine Tiffany archival objects, while a custom ornament inspired by Jean Schlumberger’s iconic 1965 Bird on a Rock design becomes the film’s central keepsake – an object meant to return year after year.
The campaign will run globally across cinema, social, digital out-of-home, Tiffany-owned channels, site and clienteling.
For American Haiku, the work brings together human insight, film talent, music, design and brand history into something designed to feel less like a holiday ad and more like a memory.
