AFM expands 2026 screenings with AMC

The American Film Market (AFM) is widening the audience for its 2026 screenings, adding new theatrical options designed to bring filmmakers, buyers and frequent moviegoers into the same room.

AFM announced an expanded slate of Market Screening opportunities for this year’s event, including a new collaboration with AMC A-List and The B-List Movie Club at AMC Century City 15, directly across from AFM headquarters at the Fairmont Century Plaza.

The partnership gives select films and presenting companies access not only to buyers and industry professionals, but also to members of The B-List Movie Club’s Los Angeles community, which AFM says numbers more than 5,000.

Those moviegoers can attend select screenings and slate presentations and provide audience feedback to participating filmmakers and sales companies. The B-List Movie Club will coordinate participation directly through its Discord community.

For filmmakers and sellers, that adds a new layer to what has traditionally been a business-to-business market environment: real audience reaction before or alongside marketplace activity.

AFM is also introducing a broader menu of screening formats this year, including World and Market Premieres, Slate Showcases, Amplified Screenings with hospitality and concessions, plus red-carpet moments with talent and photo opportunities.

All AFM screenings will take place at AMC Century City 15 from November 10–13.

The announcement comes as AFM prepares for its 47th edition, running November 10–15, 2026, with more than 215 exhibiting companies already confirmed.

Among the companies set to participate are AGC Studios, Altitude, Angel, Anton, Beta Cinema, Blue Fox Entertainment Group, Capstone, Charades, Cornerstone Films, Embankment Films, Film Mode Entertainment, Gaumont, HanWay Films, Highland Film Group, Kinology, Lionsgate, Millennium Media, Mister Smith Entertainment, MK2, NEON, Pathé Films, Protagonist Pictures, STUDIOCANAL, TrustNordisk, Voltage Pictures and XYZ Films, among many others.

Buyer registration is also tracking ahead of last year, according to AFM, with companies from 55 countries already signed up.

“We’re seeing tremendous participation from across the global industry, and all signs point to a very strong AFM this November,” said Jackie Brenneman, president and CEO of the Independent Film & Television Alliance.

Brenneman said the AMC collaboration is intended to give participating films access to passionate moviegoers while also generating useful audience response as projects enter the global marketplace.

Carrie Trotter, senior vice president of marketing at AMC Theatres, said the partnership is another way to connect frequent moviegoers with theatrical experiences they would not typically encounter.

The B-List Movie Club’s Brett Gaffney and Jenna Webster framed the collaboration around community and audience feedback, noting that filmmakers will be able to see how real moviegoers respond to projects before wider release.

The expanded screening program fits into AFM’s broader 2026 theme, “The New Global Screen Economy.”

This year’s market will be based at the Fairmont Century Plaza, AMC Century City 15 and The Pavilion, which will house The AFM House and Innovation Hub.

For sales companies and producers, the practical appeal is clear: more ways to show work, more ways to package the experience around it and, for select projects, a chance to hear from audiences before the market conversation is over.
