Adventure Time’s multiverse mischief is back. Max dropped the official trailer for Season Two of the Max Original animated series Adventure Time: Fionna and Cake during a packed New York Comic Con panel, confirming the ten-episode run will launch Thursday, October 23 on Max, with new episodes rolling out weekly through December 25.
Season Two picks up after Fionna and Cake’s dimension-hopping detour with a fresh slate of quests, existential curveballs, and a high-stakes side journey: Huntress Wizard sets off on a desperate mission with potentially fatal consequences. If Season One was about breaking the multiverse wide open, Season Two looks ready to test what our heroes are willing to risk to keep it stitched together. Watch below:
Madeleine Martin returns as Fionna alongside Roz Ryan and Ashly Burch, with a loaded recurring guest roster that reads like a genre-fan fever dream: Anna Akana, Dee Bradley Baker, Maria Bamford, Matthew Broderick, Kris Collins, Frank Collison, Andy Daly, Grey DeLisle, Harvey Guillén, Patti Harrison, Manny Jacinto, Tom Kenny, Marc Maron, Jinkx Monsoon, Kumail Nanjiani, Olivia Olson, Vico Ortiz, Chelsea Peretti, Jeremy Shada, Hynden Walch, and creator Pendleton Ward, among others.
Adam Muto is back as showrunner and executive producer, steering the spin-off’s blend of heartfelt character beats and cosmic chaos. The series is executive-produced by Fred Seibert and Sam Register and produced in partnership with Cartoon Network Studios.
The trailer teases more sharp one-liners, dreamy color palettes, and the kind of lore-deep cutaways longtime Adventure Time fans love, while keeping the spotlight firmly on Fionna and Cake’s odd-couple chemistry. Mark your calendars: Thursdays this fall belong to swords, songs, and a cat who will absolutely fight you.
