Abruzzo Film board to be introduced at AFM

On November 9, 2019, the recently formed Abruzzo Film Commission will introduce the Abruzzo Film Commission Advisory Board (AFCAB) to international filmmakers, producers, location scouts, and media at an event at the Viceroy Hotel Santa Monica during the American Film Market.

Board members include some of North America’s biggest names in film and TV who hail from Abruzzo.

The Board is committed to introducing the Abruzzo Region as a filming location for American and Canadian productions to film and TV colleagues in Hollywood. The Board will collaborate with the Film Commission, which has a mission to develop the film, television and audiovisual industry in the Region to promote its territory on the national and international stages.

Abruzzo is the ideal stage to tell extraordinary narratives. It is a unique region in central Italy, east of Rome, with an Adriatic coastline and the majestic Apennine Mountains. National parks and nature reserves cover much of its rugged interior. It also encompasses hilltop towns, dating to the medieval and Renaissance periods. Its many gifts make the Region an ideal movie location.

Introducing the AFCAB will be a delegation of the Abruzzo Region Administration, including Mauro Febbo, Councilman for Economic, Tourism, Cultural, and Entertainment Activities, and Francesco Di Filippo, Administrator of the Tourism Office. The event is organized in collaboration with The Italian National Tourist Board.

The AFM will take place from November 6 (the day I met my wife) to November 13 at the Loews Hotel, Fairmount Hotel, Le Merigot, as well as other venues around Santa Monica. It’s still possible to pick up a badge here.
