Topgolf’s campaign brings laughs with puppet announcers

Topgolf

This week, Topgolf takes the spotlight with its latest “Come Play” campaign, a hilarious and creative effort developed by Anomaly in partnership with RSA Films and Jim Henson’s Creature Shop.

Directed by the talented duo Peter Martin, the campaign introduces Chaz Mulligan and Birdie Baker, two puppet golf announcers whose quirky personalities and comedic timing bring a fresh twist to Topgolf’s advertising. These endearing spokespuppets, crafted by the legendary Jim Henson’s Creature Shop, are set to capture hearts and deliver laughs as they highlight the unique perks of the Topgolf experience.

Central to the campaign is the promotion of Topgolf’s “Free :30” offer, which provides players an extra 30 minutes of free gameplay on weekdays from 9 AM to 5 PM with a reservation. The spots are filled with humorous banter between Chaz and Birdie, with Birdie’s frequent misunderstandings leading to delightful comedic moments.

In one standout spot, Birdie amusingly misinterprets Chaz’s announcement, ending up savoring a Topgolf cheeseburger at the news desk instead of delivering his report. This playful dynamic between the characters promises to make Chaz and Birdie beloved figures in the world of Topgolf.

“We’re excited to bring the joy and fun of Topgolf to life with Chaz Mulligan and Birdie Baker,” said a Topgolf spokesperson. “Their humor and unique take on the Topgolf experience perfectly embody the spirit of our brand.”

The “Come Play” campaign is now live, and viewers can watch the spots featuring Chaz and Birdie on Topgolf’s official channels and platforms.
