Timothée Chalamet leads high-octane story for Lucid Gravity

Timothée Chalamet

Lucid Group, Inc., maker of the world’s most advanced electric vehicles, today unveiled “Driven,” an adrenaline-fueled brand story headlined by Academy Award nominee Timothée Chalamet and directed by fellow nominee James Mangold of Minted Content. Featuring stunt work from the team behind Mangold’s 2019 hit Ford v Ferrari, the film showcases the unrivaled capabilities of the all-electric Lucid Gravity.

“Driven” marks the start of a multi-year partnership naming Chalamet Lucid’s first global brand ambassador. The campaign rolls out in :30, :60, and an extended two-minute director’s cut, with Chalamet appearing in future creative throughout the partnership.

On screen, Chalamet plays The Groom alongside Larsen Thompson as his new bride. When their motorcycle stalls on a dusty desert road, the pair slips into a remote facility, hijacks a clandestine supercar, and rockets toward the horizon. Framed as a daring discovery, Lucid Gravity is positioned as something almost otherworldly—combining space, speed, and range in a way that resets expectations for an electric SUV. Watch below:

The two-minute cut reflects a shared vision between Mangold and Lucid to push beyond a traditional brand spot. The film pairs Gravity’s versatility with precision stunt driving by Tanner Foust and a striking new arrangement of Burning by Yeah Yeah Yeahs.

“This campaign marks an exciting step into a new kind of storytelling for Lucid,” said Akerho “AK” Oghoghomeh, Senior Vice President of Marketing at Lucid Motors. “Bringing together Timothée and James gave us an incredible opportunity to show how cinematic craft can bring Lucid Gravity to life. James’ vision captures its versatility, performance, and handling in ways that invite people to experience the brand differently—through story, not just specification.”

Lucid Gravity stars throughout, highlighting an all-electric SUV that marries three-row versatility with sports-car performance and long-distance range—capable of taking up to seven passengers and their gear virtually anywhere.¹

Chalamet has been nominated for two Academy Awards and recently earned his first Screen Actors Guild Award for portraying Bob Dylan in 2024’s A Complete Unknown, directed by Mangold. Later this year he appears in Marty Supreme (dir. Josh Safdie), and next year stars in Dune: Part Three (dir. Denis Villeneuve).
