She Runs It has announced its 2024 Women of the Year, honoring three distinguished leaders for their outstanding contributions to marketing, media, and technology.

This year’s recipients are Andrea Brimmer, Chief Marketing & Public Relations Officer at Ally Financial; Charisse Hughes, SVP and Chief Growth Officer at Kellanova; and Eileen Kiernan, Global CEO of IPG Mediabrands. These women exemplify the fearless spirit of She Runs It, driving growth, championing diversity, equity, and inclusion (DE&I), and inspiring others in their industries.

“We consider this award to be our most prestigious because it honors some of the most accomplished and inspirational women in marketing, media and tech,” said Lynn Branigan, President and CEO of She Runs It. “This year is no exception. These women are remarkable leaders who have the unique ability to achieve equal measures of business success and social responsibility, all while leading with empathy, advocating for DE&I, challenging the status quo, and lifting others.”

Andrea Brimmer

Andrea joined Ally Financial in 2006 and has been pivotal in creating and launching the Ally brand. As CMO since 2015, she has unified the brand under the “Do It Right” mantra, positioning Ally as a unique financial services company that addresses customer pain points overlooked by traditional institutions. Andrea’s innovative leadership has earned Ally numerous accolades, including spots on the Fast Company Brands that Matter list for two consecutive years.

She is also known for her commitment to gender equity, launching the marketing industry’s first 50/50 pledge to equalize advertising spending between women’s and men’s sports. Her recognitions include being named one of Fast Company’s Most Creative People in Business and Forbes World’s Most Influential CMOs.

Charisse Hughes

Charisse drives the growth agenda at Kellanova through her leadership in global brands, innovation, R&D, and marketing excellence. She strategically uses data to unlock unique business opportunities and spearheads initiatives that enhance brand engagement. With a background including roles at Pandora Americas, The Estee Lauder Companies, Avon, and Sara Lee, Charisse has consistently pushed for inclusive growth.

She was named Consumer Goods Technology’s 2022 CMO of the Year and has been recognized in Adweek’s Marketing Vanguard Awards. Charisse is a passionate advocate for DE&I, actively participating in Kellanova’s Women of Kellanova+ and African American Resource Groups.

Eileen Kiernan

Eileen oversees IPG Mediabrands as Global CEO, guiding the vision, strategy, and performance of the media and marketing solutions division. Her extensive career includes roles such as Global CEO of UM and Global President at J3, where she managed global strategies for high-profile clients like Spotify and American Express.

Her leadership has been instrumental in IPG Mediabrands being named Ad Age’s 2024 US Network of the Year. She has been honored with Campaign’s Inspiring Women Awards and Female Frontier Awards and serves as a juror for major industry awards like the Cannes Media Lions.

These trailblazers will be celebrated at the She Runs It awards ceremony on July 17, 2024, at The Edison Ballroom in New York City. The event will provide an opportunity for attendees to gain insights from these accomplished leaders, who embody the blend of business success and social responsibility that She Runs It aims to promote.

Lynn Branigan, President and CEO of She Runs It, praised the honorees for their remarkable ability to lead with empathy, advocate for DE&I, and challenge the status quo while lifting others.
