Created in partnership with AOR, Arnold, the short film confronts the harsh realities many Americans face when trying to buy their first home, from lack of generational wealth and financial literacy to systemic obstacles that have long made homeownership feel out of reach.
Open the House: More Than a Campaign
Unveiled earlier this month, Open the House is a multi-year effort centered on economic empowerment, especially for those communities historically locked out of the American Dream. With resources, financial education, and direct aid, the initiative addresses three stages: getting into a home, staying in it, and growing wealth.
And it’s not just film. The platform includes digital content, toolkits, and awareness efforts aimed at turning inspiration into action. Watch below:
Meet the UpPayment
Beyond storytelling, Progressive is putting its money where its mission is. The newly announced UpPayment program will provide a $13,500 down payment grant to up to 100 first-generation homebuyers, helping them leap over one of the biggest hurdles in homeownership: the upfront cost.
The goal? Not just to get people into homes, but to keep them there — and empower them to build long-term generational wealth.
