Matthew Compton is new West Coast CD of Squeak E. Clean

Matthew “Cornbread” Compton has been promoted from senior composer to West Coast creative director at Squeak E. Clean Studios, an international creative audio network. He joined the company in 2021 after spending several years performing with various punk bands on the touring scene.

During his time at Squeak E. Clean Studios, Compton has created original compositions for numerous brands such as Carl’s Jr., Hardee’s, Califia Farms, Little Caesars, and PepsiCo’s Starry campaign. He has also worked with agencies like Goodby Silverstein & Partners, McKinney, 72andsunny, and VaynerMedia.

Apart from his branded work, Compton has composed soundtracks for feature films and television series, including Palm Springs (2020), the MacGruber TV series (2010), MacGruber (2021), Snatched (2017), and Love, Rosie (2017).

Compton expressed his enthusiasm for continuing to work with his colleagues and partners at Squeak E. Clean Studios, fostering a collaborative and innovative approach to enhance their creative endeavors.

Prior to joining Squeak E. Clean Studios, Compton collaborated with The Lonely Island on tracks for various projects, including the feature film Popstar: Never Stop Stopping produced by Judd Apatow. Additionally, Compton was a writer and performer for the critically acclaimed L.A.-based indie rock band Electric Guest. He has worked with notable bands and artists, including Carly Rae Jepsen, Cold War Kids, Portugal The Man, Charlotte Gainsbourg, Cursive, The Pierces, and Joyo Velarde.
