Spidey fans, mark your calendars and prep your celebratory web fluid — Tom Holland is officially back in the suit, and now we have a title to prove it. Say hello to Spider-Man: Brand New Day, swinging into theaters on July 31, 2026.

Holland dropped the news via a video message at CinemaCon, offering a heartfelt thanks to fans and calling the fourth film “a fresh start.” And judging by that title — borrowed from a controversial and game-changing 2008 comic arc — he wasn’t kidding.

New Web, Who Dis?

Director Destin Daniel Cretton, of Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings fame, took the stage in Vegas to make things extra official. After admitting he’d just lost $200 at the roulette table (even superheroes have bad luck in Vegas), Cretton shared his deep love for Spider-Man’s “humor” and “messy humanity.”

“This movie is a ride we haven’t really seen before,” he teased, which for a character who’s faced alien goo monsters, multiversal chaos, and high school exams, is saying something.

The Title That Says It All

Brand New Day isn’t just a clever name — it’s a direct nod to the comics storyline where, after a major magical retcon, the world forgot who Peter Parker was (sound familiar?). Oh, and Peter and MJ’s marriage also got erased in that arc, so yeah… we’ll be watching Zendaya’s screen time very closely.

Writers Chris McKenna and Erik Sommers, the dynamic duo behind No Way Home, are once again penning the script. Expect humor, heartbreak, and a multiverse worth of emotional trauma.

Tom Holland’s last Spidey outing, No Way Home, wasn’t just a crowd-pleaser — it racked up a mind-blowing $1.9 billion at the global box office. The trilogy, directed by Jon Watts, helped cement Holland as the definitive Peter Parker for a new generation.

What’s Next for the MCU?

Marvel’s timeline is as packed as a Comic-Con panel. We’ve got Thunderbolts landing in May, The Fantastic Four: First Steps coming July 25, and Avengers: Doomsday assembling in 2026. So yeah, it’s going to be a wild ride.

In the meantime, Holland’s also gearing up to co-star with Austin Butler in the crime drama American Speed for Amazon MGM. Is there anything this guy can’t do?

Stay tuned for more updates as Brand New Day swings closer to production — and hey, if anyone spots Peter Parker on campus again, maybe try not to forget him this time.

Got thoughts on the new title? Spidey theories? Questions about MJ’s fate? Drop us a line — we’re all ears and spider-senses.
