In celebration of Black History Month, Gap and Harlem’s Fashion Row (HFR) have teamed up to release a 16-piece, limited-edition collection that showcases the work of six Black designers.
The collection, launching Friday, February 14, in select stores and on Gap.com, reimagines the brand’s most iconic wardrobe staples through the creative lenses of A.Potts, BruceGlen, KAPHILL, N’Gai, and Richfresh.
Gap and HFR will unveil the collection with an exclusive event at Gap’s San Francisco headquarters on February 13, just ahead of the NBA’s All-Star Weekend. This immersive presentation will merge storytelling with fashion and movement, celebrating the intersection of creativity, culture, and design.
A Platform for Creative Voices
“This partnership is a natural fit, as it’s rooted in our shared mission to empower creators and provide them with a platform to share their talent with the world,” said Mark Breitbard, President & CEO of Gap. “Each designer’s creativity takes center stage—drawing inspiration from Gap’s heritage while bringing a fresh, authentic perspective to create a truly original collection. We’re excited to bring our communities together in San Francisco, a city that fuels creativity and innovation.”
Gap has been a committed partner of HFR since 2019, supporting its mission through industry events, brand collaborations, educational programs, and investments in HBCUs through HFR’s ICON360 initiative. The partnership is part of Gap’s broader commitment to fostering a more inclusive and equitable retail industry.
“For us, this collaboration goes beyond fashion—it’s about creating opportunities, breaking barriers, and amplifying the voices of incredibly talented designers,” added Brandice Daniel, CEO & Founder of Harlem’s Fashion Row. “This collection represents the evolution of our shared vision to reimagine possibilities for designers of color. Together, we’re not just celebrating creativity, but also building a legacy of inclusivity and empowerment that will inspire future generations.”
