Former Superman, Dean Cain, joins ICE

Dean Cain, best known as Superman from Lois & Clark: The New Adventures of Superman, is stepping into a new, real-world role. The actor revealed during a Fox News appearance that he plans to be sworn in as an honorary ICE agent, citing his background as a reserve police officer and deputy sheriff as a foundation for the move.

Cain said the decision came after sharing an ICE recruitment video on social media, which went viral. He then spoke with ICE officials and moved quickly to formalize his commitment.

“This country was built on patriots stepping up, whether it was popular or not, and doing the right thing. I truly believe this is the right thing,” Cain told Fox’s Jesse Watters. He framed his move as a response to a “broken immigration system” and expressed support for President Trump’s law enforcement agenda.

The announcement comes amid a hotly debated period of ramped-up ICE enforcement under the Trump administration, backed by a $75 billion budget boost. The policies have sparked both criticism and protests, particularly over raids and due process concerns.

Cain’s support for strict immigration enforcement has drawn extra scrutiny, especially given Superman’s fictional status as an alien immigrant himself. Dean Cain previously criticized James Gunn’s new Superman film as “woke,” and the symbolism of deporting an immigrant, even one from Krypton, is not lost on observers.
