Exclusive set photos filming Season 7 of Grace and Frankie

Grace and Frankie
Jane Fonda & Lily Tomlin return as Grace and Frankie for Season 7

For those of us, myself included, who have been concerned whether we would ever see Grace and Frankie return, I have good news. Netflix gave us a Friday the 13th surprise announcement that the first four episodes of the seventh and final season are available for streaming.

“It’s been quite the year and a half, and we could all use a duo like Grace and Frankie in our lives right about now,” Netflix said in a statement. “So, as a treat, Jane and Lily are giving you the first four episodes of the seventh and final season of Grace and Frankie.”

In typical Grace and Frankie style, our dynamic duo made a surprise personal Twitter announcement.“We’ve missed you,” said Lily Tomlin, “but more important, you’ve missed us.”

When Lily didn’t feel Jane was getting to the announcement quickly enough, she jumped in to break the news, “The first four episodes of Season 7 are out now.”

Jane Fonda added, “But don’t worry, there’s plenty more to come. We just wanted to give you something special until we finish the rest of the season.”

“It was between this and Del Taco gift cards,” said Lilly. “I wanted to go with the gift cards.”

And here’s a bonus! I visited the set when the cast and crew of Grace and Frankie were filming Season 7 on location at the Santa Monica beach house shortly before the pandemic hit and halted production for about a year and a half.

I was told by the disheartened crew members who had been with the series for its entirety that this would be the final season. They only filmed at this location once or twice a season and this would likely be the last time they would film at the house.

When I told them how much I loved the show, they responded in unison, “Who doesn’t love Grace and Frankie !”
