Today, tragedy struck at Radford Studios in Studio City as a rigger fell from a catwalk and lost his life. The male crew member, identified as Juan Carlos Osorio, 41, of Temple City, tragically passed away at the scene. The incident occurred while he was working on the set of Marvel Studios’ Wonder Man, although filming was not in progress at the time.

The Los Angeles Police Department confirmed the identity of the deceased worker.

A spokesperson from Marvel expressed condolences, stating, “Our thoughts and deepest condolences are with his family and friends, and our support is behind the investigation into the circumstances of this accident.”

“Everyone in the IA family is shocked and deeply saddened by this tragic loss. We are working to support our member’s family, and his fellow members and colleagues,” said President Matthew D. Loeb. “Safety on set is our highest priority and we will assist Cal/OSHA in their investigation in any way that we can. If you feel unsafe on set for any reason, members can call the IATSE Safety Hotline at 844-422-9273 or use our safety info app.”

Wonder Man, starring Yahya Abdul-Mateen II, is slated to commence production next month after facing delays due to the WGA and SAG AFTRA strikes. The series follows Simons Williams, a character from the comics who is the scion of a wealthy industrialist.

Williams finds himself working for the villain Baron Zemo, who grants him ionic talents, including extreme strength. Despite initially being an adversary of the Avengers, Wonder Man ultimately joins forces with them.
