BURN Studio has signed award-winning director Caraz, whose blend of human-centered storytelling and high visual craft has made her a standout on the global stage. This marks her first U.S. representation.
Caraz has already built an impressive portfolio, directing commercials for T-Mobile, Neutrogena, Sony, Air Transat, and Gore-Tex, alongside her acclaimed short Do Butterflies Remember Being Caterpillars. The film, which explores transformation and self-discovery, earned two Gold Awards at the 2022 Young Directors Awards and was featured on Nowness.
Raised in Quebec by French-Italian parents, Caraz studied Television at Université du Québec before moving to Los Angeles to attend USC. She carved her creative path early, living in Bali and developing her photography, which soon led to brand work across Asia, Europe, and the Americas. Her work is shaped by travel, psychology, and a fascination with the human experience.
“I had been looking to join a production company that felt like home,” Caraz said of her new partnership. “I trusted Brad and Greg from the beginning—not just as producers but as humans. We all want the same thing: to do great work, have fun, and surround ourselves with people who’ve got your back. That’s what I found at BURN.”
BURN leaders Brad Johns and Greg Hardes praised her distinct presence and fearless storytelling. “She has humility, ambition, taste, and perspective we value at BURN,” said Johns. Hardes added: “There’s a surrealist sensibility to her work, but she never loses the humanity of her characters. There’s no ceiling to what she can achieve.”
Currently, Caraz is in early development on her first feature film and has recently completed her short film, The Life Cycle of a Grey Ant, which is now in distribution. A self-described “experience junkie,” she views directing as a way to live many lives—both her own and those of her audience.
Reel 360 News wishes Caraz the best of luck at BURN.
