Boutique post-production house Bandit Editorial is expanding its creative family with the signing of Editor Dahkil Hausif, a seasoned storyteller whose career spans over two decades and includes acclaimed work for Beats by Dre, ESPN, Mastercard, Ulta, Champs Sports, and many more.
Known for his reverence for narrative and his ability to infuse meaning into every cut, Hausif brings more than just technical precision — he brings heart. Influenced early on by activist-scholar Professor Micere Mugo during his time at Syracuse University, Hausif was challenged to approach editing as more than craft — as a form of cultural expression and truth-telling.
“There’s a people-focused community and culture here,” Hausif says of joining Bandit. “They embraced me the minute I walked in. It’s a return to craft — to storytelling with meaning, to having fun, and putting story into content in a way that protects and elevates the work.”
A true global citizen and self-described military brat, Hausif’s perspective has been shaped by life in places as diverse as Guam, Illinois, and Japan — a patchwork of cultures that now inform his editorial style. His path has taken him from humble beginnings as a runner at Mad River Post, to a prolific stretch at Spot Welders, and most recently, as a Senior Editor at NO6.
Beyond the edit bay, Hausif is also a co-founder of Men at Work Healing and a trained sociocracy consultant, bringing a collaborative, mindful approach to every project. His editorial process is driven not only by visual rhythm, but by community, inclusivity, and emotional resonance.
Bandit Executive Producer Laura Relovsky says the addition of Hausif feels like a natural fit. “I’ve known Dahkil for years and was lucky to work with him in the past. His creativity, artistry and work ethic are matched only by his authenticity and presence. He’s the kind of person who elevates everyone in the room. We’re thrilled to welcome him to the Bandit family.”
Hausif’s arrival signals Bandit’s continued commitment to fostering storytellers who not only shape culture, but also bring humanity to the forefront of the post-production process.
Reel 360 News wishes Dahkil the best of luck!
