Music industry veteran Sean McDonough has joined concert promoter / producer FM Entertainment of Logan Square as a national talent buyer/producer.
Founded in 2006 by Frank Mastalerz, FM Entertainment promotes and produces concerts in 18 venues throughout the Midwest, including Concord Music Hall, Apollo Theater, Emerson Theater and the St Croix Casino.
It also books music festivals like WIIL Rock Fest, Throttle Fest and Kraut Fest and provides entertainment at the Chicagoland Speedway and numerous other events.
McDonough began his 14-year career at iconic music club Metro, rising from answering telephones to becoming the club’s head talent buyer.
In 2008, he moved to New York where he booked Irving Plaza and the Gramercy Theatre for Live Nation and also was responsible for many other shows with artists like Jay-Z, Gaelic Storm, Lenny Kravitz, M83, Papa Roach, and PJ Harvey with John Parish.
Back in Chicago in 2010, he was named Lead Talent Buyer for Live Nation-owned House of Blues and also for Bottom Lounge, another Live Nation property, helping to establish the West Loop club as one of Chicago’s most exciting live music venues.
Says Mastalerz of his new addition, “Sean is one of the premier and most well respected talent buyers within the music industry. He brings his history and knowledge base to FM Entertainment and will apply those strengths to our future shows and the venues and clients for which we supply talent.”
Upcoming FM Entertainment events include the just announced Open Air Pre-Party at Concord Music Hall, Lordi, Overkill and Testament.
